How about adding a 'page' for tips etc. Reading through the various group pages I have seen a number of tips and ideas but when I want to go back to something I have read, it's lost - forever!
Someone mentioned the fact that buttons may fall off and get lost. I was given the following tip - put a drop of clear nail vanish onto the threads on the top of the button. With yarn rub it in a little, not necessary with cotton thread. It's the first ting I do whenever I buy a new itme of clothing that has buttons.

OHHH Great tip Jen !!
And I think this is a wonderful idea ! Now I wont have post it notes everywhere as I read thru some of these posts !!
Great tip to start us off! Never have tried that one, but I will. Not sure who will have time to go harvest the various tips but we can certainly go on from here. :)

A great tip I saw: if you don't want your skein of yarn thundering all over the floor gathering dust bunnies and cats as it unravels, cut a cleaned 2 quart/litre pop bottle's top off it, insert the yarn with its end thread up, thread that end through the neck of the cut off bottle top, tape the bottle back together and you've got a yarn container that protects from roving dust bunnies and attack cats. (you can punch a hole with a sharp knife then use kitchen scissors to cut the bottle's top off it)

Tip 2:When working in continual rounds you can use a bobby pin hooked through your stitches to mark where the stitch row originally started. This even helps me when working in round rows of the smaller stitches like sc and hdc with a bulkier yarn as the bump up to the next row often hides on me. I find if I use abit of scrap yarn it often gets tangled in the other yarn.
For years I have been washing out used plastic boxes from ice cream/margarine/washing products, and using them as yarn containers, and bits/bobs holders. Given several to fellow knit group members. so easy and cheap to replace or adjust, then bought ones.
When not in use for yarn, they can be sandwich boxes on picnics/outings that later used to collect rubbish and disposed of in bins
