African Animal Flashcards

Hello everyone! Following the success of my alphabet flashcards, I set out last year to create cards for African animals. Of course, life got in the way, but I'm happy to say that I have finally finished what I started.

 

Below are two PDF files for printing at your leisure. I'm sure you'll enjoy them, even if you keep them for yourselves or hand them out to the children in your own lives.

Andrea, these are perfect for the children. Using animals they know will help them learn and the info with each is an extra educational tool for the teachers to use.   I especially like how creative you were with the "U" and "X".

Thanks so much Andrea! I teach English as an Additional Language to 4-11 year olds here in Wales and these pictures are perfect for our current work. I have pupils from Libya(!!), Portugal, Bangla Desh, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria and Kenya at the moment and as always everyone is fascinated by animals, regardless of language or background.
And yes, children coming to Wales learn English AND Welsh. So we have some very interesting lessons!
Will let you know how we get on.

I would love to learn Welsh! I'm so glad you're finding a use for these cards. I know my two boys love anything to do with animals - doggie was their first word! :o)

Dawson, these cards are the second set Andrea has made for us.  The first set was alphabet cards, which are

also on the KAS website.  The sets are useful for photo copying and making the colorful booklets that Ronda

passes out to the children in the creches.    So they are not actually cards at present but can be made into

card sets or into pages for the booklets.

Andrea:  Still can't bring up the animal cards - what am I doing?  Thanks, Laurie  ( I had no trouble getting the other alphabet cards!)
