Hi,
I just found the site last night and I can't wait to get started. I live in Surrey in England and I plan to get my first ball of wool today. I'm not a good knitter, but I'll do my best. I love all the pictures on the site and all those lovely squares.

If you'd like to join the UK group we'd love to have you but you can join any group(s) that you wish.
Looking forward to seeing photos of your squares,

I love your cute little panda. Thank you for asking me to join the UK group. I have just done that - At lunch time I went to buy some wool and with all the lovely colours I felt like I was in a sweet shop like the ones I used to go to when I was a school.

Permalink Reply by Christine Johnson on February 8, 2012 at 3:37am You sound as if you have the makings of a true KASer - we even have a group for Yarnoholics. This can become addictive, both acquiring yarns and then parting with it. My panda picture is of a puppet I made from a pattern on site for teddy-bears. When you're confident with squares that would make a good second project - very small and easy and a nice change from square-bashing.
Glad you joined the UK group - now we can add your squares to our local tally.
Enjoy your knitting x
Permalink Reply by Pam Antink on February 8, 2012 at 7:40am Ah, Patricia you have caught KAS-disease - there is no known cure I'm afraid! Lovely to have you with us, your warm infectious attitude will add value to every square you produce.
Permalink Reply by Pam Johnson on February 8, 2012 at 10:12am Welcome Patricia - you will soon be a great knitter with all the practice you get on squares! :-)
So many new UK people have joined us this year - it is very exciting.
I have improved my knitting and crochet a lot since being part of KAS - there is so much inspiration on the site I have wanted to try something new - but I go back to my basic plain jane knitted squares when I want to knit without thinking!
Permalink Reply by Bev Jeffery on February 9, 2012 at 12:33pm Hi Patricia...from Australia.
So glad you joined us...love your enthusiasm...but beware... buying yarn is extremely addictive! As is knitting for KAS (that's a good thing!)
(Yes Pam....knitting plain janes is definitely knitting without thinking...sometimes I don't think to stop and they take on a decidedly rectangular shape. lol. )
Once again..Welcome Patricia and HAPPY KNITTING!
Permalink Reply by Patricia Barnett on February 10, 2012 at 12:14am Hi, yes I am just finding out how addictive buying the wool is - many happy hours to be spent there.

Permalink Reply by Ute Dancer on February 9, 2012 at 3:18pm Hello Patricia! So happy to meet you! Once you caught the knitting for a cause bug, you will find yourself with more yarn than you can possibly knit or crochet and it will make you oddly happy, lol.!!! I just found this wonderful group, and I am already getting my first box together to be send this weekend! Happy knitting!
Permalink Reply by Patricia Barnett on February 10, 2012 at 12:13am That's fantastic - it is lovely to meet you. Well done on getting your box together. I just joined a couple days ago and I have made 2 squares and have started on my third. Busy fingers.
