Square Circle Forum

Hi everyone

I've opened up this category because I'd love to get that buzzy, chatty, fun feeling back in 2010. We have such a wonderful group of people in our KAS community and it's always fantastic to hear from everyone, whether it's to do with KAS, the children, ideas, or just fun stories about what's happening in your lives.

We've just hit over 750 member, which is brilliant! Therefore I hope that we'll all get to chat throughout the year and get to know one another better. It's February already so let's get chatting.

Grab a cup of tea, coffee (or even a sneaky wine!) and tell us about yourself, we're waiting to hear...

I'm off to grab a cuppa x x x

wow you do have a vegetable garden. I am so glad Susan is getting so nicely situated. Having a shorter compute will be nice for her. Have to get off this computer. It is already 11:45 in the morning the day goes too quick and I am behind in my daily knitting. Oh well I have to give up this idea I have to knit two squares a day. Have any ideas how to not be so obsessed.
Wow, lovely gardens. We didn't put one in this year due to deer. The gardens I do see look like mini prisoner-of-war camps--high fencing with gates, some with barbed wire on top, others with plastic bags and flags fluttering. I still like that one guy's idea--he has a motion activated high pressure sprinkler facing his garden. Deer don't touch it, they hate getting sprayed plus the noise of the sprinkler. That makes me grin every time I think of it.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/07/19/2957221.htm I am "over the moon" about this tv news video which links KAS to Nelson Mandela Day. I couldn't wait to share it here. Just click on the video in the news article! :D

Rona Malewit posted it to us Mods and no doubt there's plans to share with all of you but I just hadda blurt it out here!

Jeanne :D
Susan in need of prayer again. As you know no babies for my daughter due to ravages of Polycystic ovary disease . Now the news is they may be able to adopt a baby girl that was her husbands niece's baby that does drugs and had the baby taken away from her. The baby spent 3 weeks in hosp. and is fine now with good prognosis. Pray that they will be able to get the baby. Her husbands sister has the baby now and wants the baby to go to Ken and Susan. They are going to have her for the week-end. They have to get a lawyer and deal with Social Service now as today Social Service took control of the baby and the mother can only see the baby at their office not at her mothers who was granted temp. custody. This may be their only chance at a child and we will be grandparents, YEA. I so appreciate everyones friendship and words of encouragment on KAS. Did 5 more KAS squares today
Jan,
All the best for Susan and Ken. And that poor little baby. All children deserve stable homes to grow up in. Keep us posted.
sending good thoughts for a happy outcome
xx
I will pray it works out.
Jan I truly hope this works out for Ken and Susan. My fingers and toes will be crossed and a prayer or two said as well. Bravo on doing more squares you powerhouse you! :)
Has anyone else noticed how most of the new members this week live in Australia? Coincidence or something to do with ABC News?
Yeah, that IS pretty neat Christine. I hope it's from the news article as that was a super link in to Mr. Mandela. :)
I definitely noticed that Christine! Cool hey?
On my way home last Friday I was reading the paper and found an article about a plan to build 400,000 homes in South Africa:

I hope this comes to fruition. :o)
