Square Circle Forum

Hi everyone

I've opened up this category because I'd love to get that buzzy, chatty, fun feeling back in 2010. We have such a wonderful group of people in our KAS community and it's always fantastic to hear from everyone, whether it's to do with KAS, the children, ideas, or just fun stories about what's happening in your lives.

We've just hit over 750 member, which is brilliant! Therefore I hope that we'll all get to chat throughout the year and get to know one another better. It's February already so let's get chatting.

Grab a cup of tea, coffee (or even a sneaky wine!) and tell us about yourself, we're waiting to hear...

I'm off to grab a cuppa x x x

Jen,
I think making a collage for your room is a wonderful idea. It will be a very large project to take on emotionally but it sounds like it will be part of your healing journey. I'm sure it will be a joy to have him so close to you each day; all those precious memories.

Thinking of you Jen and sending you lots of hugs.Take care.

Jen, our thoughts and prayers are with you xxx
Dear Jen,

Our deepest sympathy for the loss of your life partner and dearest friend. Thirty four years is a wonderful span of time to have spent sharing so much together and so many incredible experiences.

Your collage of photographs is a great project to capture your and your families memories of him and I too hope that it is healing for you over the time that you spend on it.

Thank you for letting this amazingly warm and loving KAS community embrace you in your grief. That is really quite a privilege. I hope that over the years as each of your squares dedicated to him, comforts and warms a small child, his memory will go on and on and on.

We are all thinking about you Jen and I hope you will visit here regularly to be 'virtually' hugged and comforted in your grief, Sandy
Oh Jen, so sorry to hear about your husband. Sending you a (((HUG))).
Very sad news Jen. I am sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts are with you.

Jan, wishing your daughter good news about the baby here.

Jen, wishing you and your family peace and unity until better times.
Just curious, but has anyone else heard of Beth's announcement from Planet Purl that they are going to be only accepting USA squares til Aug. 31st as they've had such a big response they can't afford to keep going with it? I heard this from Jan Wilcox over on Peggy's blog. That puts our American KASers behind the eight ball again and I'm hoping somebody will have some ideas for them so we don't lose them from KAS.

Jeanne

Jen, I think that's a wonderful idea to do that collage of photos. It will be heart warming and help you still feel close to him, even though he's moved on. I'm so glad you've had all those happy years together as a true partnership, it must have been really wonderful. :)
I read Beth's posting
I read Beths posting too...we in the states have til Aug 31...anything arriving after that will be sent back to sender....so I am going to get my squares that I have all boxed up in the next couple days....I hope we don;t loose PP too...that had to be quite a boost...sending all the squares, I know it was for me...and then $1000.00 to boot.....they said they had spent $5,000.00 in postage sending all the squares they received...guess they didn;t think they would get such a turn out of squares.
Beth's note about Planet Purl only taking squares received by Aug. 31 is under the Square Circle Ezine listing in case anyone was wondering where I found it. Am trying to get more done to send by the middle of the month so gets there by the deadline.
I was wondering how many of you use planet purl I guess it would just be those of us in the United States. Its so hard losing something that made it easier financially . I have enjoyed be able to knit and send so many squares to Africa. I may be able (my son says I can) use the flat rate priority boxes. But don't think I will be able to send so many.
