Square Circle Forum

Hi everyone

I've opened up this category because I'd love to get that buzzy, chatty, fun feeling back in 2010. We have such a wonderful group of people in our KAS community and it's always fantastic to hear from everyone, whether it's to do with KAS, the children, ideas, or just fun stories about what's happening in your lives.

We've just hit over 750 member, which is brilliant! Therefore I hope that we'll all get to chat throughout the year and get to know one another better. It's February already so let's get chatting.

Grab a cup of tea, coffee (or even a sneaky wine!) and tell us about yourself, we're waiting to hear...

I'm off to grab a cuppa x x x

Oh Jen we all felt for you and your husband when he had falls. He seemed to be a very resilient spirit. I am sorry to hear of his passing. As you can see the KAS community is here for you in every way. My thoughts are with you and your families.

Thank you one and all for your kind thoughts and prayers. We celebrated our 34th anniversary just 3 weeks ago. We did absolutely everything together - overseas travel, camping and mountain walking here in South Africa, amateur radio operators, learnt French at the Alliance and always the books. Books and yarn were starting to compete for room space in our little house - not sure which will win out in the end. Today I sat and pulled out a pile of photo's of him and our daughter in law and I are going to make a huge collage from them to hang in my room.

I am sure that collage will be a great memory of all the great times you had. How many children did you have?? Wow you did alot together what great memories you must have do you have any particular one you would like to share?? I thought it was a
bit funny when you didn't know what would win out yarn or books. I hope I can keep my yarn to one closet. I put two little boxes upstairs today I have two basket and another container of yarn I might want to use right away downstairs. Don't want to have to walk upstairs to get it. I have a corner in the house where I knit and my husband calls it my knitting corner or Peggys corner really one in the same right now.
I will continue to pray for you. I am so glad you have us and your interest in knitting. My mom was just here she lost my dad her husband three years ago. She like you and your hubby did everything together and she nursed him in their home with help till the day he died. For the past three years of his life he got dialysis, had breathing problems and was in a wheel chair I think it was the last year. I don't know how she did but her love for him was amazing. The one unfortunate thing is they retired in Arizona and none of my brothers and sisters there are six of us live there. Well I have babbled on enough. Take good care of yourself

Jen,
I think making a collage for your room is a wonderful idea. It will be a very large project to take on emotionally but it sounds like it will be part of your healing journey. I'm sure it will be a joy to have him so close to you each day; all those precious memories.

Dear Jen,

Our deepest sympathy for the loss of your life partner and dearest friend. Thirty four years is a wonderful span of time to have spent sharing so much together and so many incredible experiences.

Your collage of photographs is a great project to capture your and your families memories of him and I too hope that it is healing for you over the time that you spend on it.

Thank you for letting this amazingly warm and loving KAS community embrace you in your grief. That is really quite a privilege. I hope that over the years as each of your squares dedicated to him, comforts and warms a small child, his memory will go on and on and on.

We are all thinking about you Jen and I hope you will visit here regularly to be 'virtually' hugged and comforted in your grief, Sandy
