Square Circle Forum

You can make these any size you like. Find a print add borders of 1.5" around it you will need 8 of these to make book like mine but you can make more pages make sure its even numbers eg 8,10 12.

Cut the spines 1.5" and add to one side of square then join another square the othe side of spine so you have one long piece. Do this to all, if you have 8 squares you with have 4 panels.

Put 2 panels  right sides together make sure when you open pages they are all going the right way.

Sew all around and leave a gap so you can turn them to the right side. Sew up gap and iron.

Do the same to the rest, when all done put one panel on top of the other like an open book and sew down the middle of the spine. Do this twice.

Thats it.

Enjoy

I made some for my grandson which I had put batting in the middle and they feel real soft but these are just as good.

Fabric books are SUCH a good idea because they are tough and don't break or tear in transit and give great texture and feel as well. There are some panel print fabrics out there where the individual squares would make great pages for books once cut into squares as you describe. One can also do a book like this with plainer fabrics and before sewing them together, iron on or sew on appliques of cute animals or fabric iron on decals...even if one's handy with an iron, use that iron on fusible web and do some simple cut out shapes of animals or squares or triangles or various shapes...takes a moment, then sew the pages together. So many ways to go with this basic pattern. Thanks so much for sharing it.
