Totally agree about the plain squares - and I'm also not keen on the extra sewing involved - but yes, making the actual shapes is fun! And I could quite fancy a holiday with wild tortoises!

Super cute lion. Thanks Lesley.

I love your beautiful friendly lion very much. It doen´t look diffucult. Is it your pattern, Lesley?

Thank you, Karla - no, it isn't difficult.  It's a pattern I bought on Ravelry - I don't usually buy patterns, but I couldn't resist this one!

I love your lion, Lesley.  And you've managed the face perfectly!!

BTW, I also love your background square :))  xo

Lesley he is beautiful! And your work is sooo neat, you are amazing!

What a cutie!

My recent attempts at squares leave me feeling the longer I work the smaller the square gets! How is that possible that's not possible.

Hi Lesley, what stitch are you using?  I'm looking for the easiest possible stitch to applique to crocheted square.

S.A. flag colors ...

Two GREAT squares, Glo.  :)) LOVE your African flower square.....so pretty.  :))

Lovely squares, and what a great idea to use the flag colours for the African flower!

The African Flower Square works so well in these colours.
