I found this site today and it had lots of free stitch patterns that would make wonderful squares. If you click on the stitch gallery at the top of the page you can see a sample of ea. stitch and then click on the pattern for the how to do it that can be printed off. http:// crochetology.net

Hi Jan, there are certainly some lovely ideas here. I particularly liked the Wedge Stitch and the 6 petal flower would look great on sweaters etc. Now all I need to do is understand a crochet pattern! When I have some time I think I may sit here watching youtube and try to crack it :)

It would probably be easier to see the stitches when you are trying the pattern if you used at least an H 8 or I 9 hook.
