Square Circle Forum

my name is roberta and i am from northern ireland. i am fairly new to knitting and want to put my skill such as it is to some use and support people who are unable to do so themselves. i need encouragement and motivation to keep going cos when i hit a prob i generally throw in the towel and give up instead of trying to get a way round the pro. this applies to my entire life, not just knitting!

Welcome Roberta :)

Welcome to the forum Roberta. You've come to the right place - this is a very supportive community and you will be able to get all the help you need from kind and helpful knitters all around the world.

I know exactly what you mean about throwing in the towel. You just summed me up and I hope that, like me, you will find that by belonging to a group of people all working towards a common goal, with different backgrounds, cultures, aspirations and skills, you can contribute. Stick with us for a while and you will learn, grow in confidence and make friends, all whilst doing something useful which is so appreciated in South Africa. Whatever you make will be used and I think you may be surprised at just what you can make with a bit of practice.

Hi Roberta and Welcome to KAS. You have come to the right place. We are a global knitting/crocheting family with a common goal to knit as many squares as possible...and then some....to help warm the vulnerable children of South Africa.

No matter what your level of skill, be assured that anything you can produce and send will be soooo appreciated by the children. You might like to find inspiration by clicking on the 'photo' tab located at the top of this page. There you will see a variety of examples of our members' work, some rather complex and others quite simple...but ALL wonderful.

There are many lively discussions to immerse yourself in and these can be found by clicking on the 'forum' tab at the top of the page, and if you should have any queries or require any help, you can ask questions and/or find answers there.

You are among friends... enjoy!

Welcome, Roberta! I agree with Christine and Bev. We are a very supportive bunch so anytime you're having a problem, pop by and we'll help you out. Enjoy the forum!

Andrea :o)

I just stumbled upon you people and I feel much like you, Roberta. I suspect this will be a new home for me :)

You'll get plenty of support here! Welcome aboard Roberta and good luck with your knitting.
