Square Circle Forum

Hi, my  name is Jeni. i am 36 years old and have knitted most of my life but really don't enjoy it. I learnt to crochet in August 2009 and I am now truly addicted. I mainly stich to granny squares but many family blankets and KAS squares later, I am happy that it works for me. I also invested in a cheap set of plastic hat looms which I find really easy to use and they make a pleasant change from making squares.

I have a 3 year old son called Harrison who means the world to me and was the recipient of my first ever crochet. The good this is that he loves is and tells me it is 'soooo warm'. Very reasuring since so much of my effors now get sent to Soweto for some very need children.

I have started this blog mainly to share with my friends some of my crochet projects with are not 'strictly KAS' and so that I don't bog down the photos pages with extras. I hope you like them.

OMG!!!!!

The church Stewardship & Projects committee which runs the fundraising and allowed me to do my wee presentation has just shared out their left-over funds for the year. Our KAS donation has now been increased to £1850. Isn't that increadible?
Yipee.

Brilliant and fantastic Jeni - such a good job - well done!

Thanks Pam. Yes I am so delighted but I can't take much creidt as I only talked for a few minutes. I guess the KAS leaflets and crocheted blankets on my display really did the talking.

Well done Jeni, that is truly amazing! I am curious, is that Newlands South Church on Kilmarnock Road in Newlands, Glasgow? If so I know exactly where it is (a beautiful church) as my sister lives very nearby!

No Charis, I think that is St Margarets, though my mom would know for sure. Newlands South is very close to it though. It is on Langside Drive.

You are right Jeni-and I should have known that as I lived in Monreith Road, parallel to Langside Drive, for over 20 years and have been in both churches! Doh!!

Well I am frantically making lots of hats at the moment using my trusty hat loom. I must say the second largest one of the set has really more that earned its keep. I have recently posted over 30 away and have another bundle growing at quite a steady rate. I even seem to be getting nearer to the bottom of my hat yarns bag - at last.
