Square Circle Forum

Hello my name is michelle i didnt know where to introduce myself hope im doing it right. well ive been looking for a charity to donate my crochet projects to and at first i joined one wich im not going to mention the name anyways its for the soldiers. and all exited and all i went into the forum to find the director to be kind of picky when it comes to the squares the colors the yarn the way the smell not giving out an adress and finally i posted a question in CAPS letters and i was penalized because as they said its considered rude to people. I didnt know that im @ work and im used to typing like that. Anyhow here i am looking for a charity that really apreciates the donated time effort and love that you put in to the projects. i think i found the perfect one. Kids in africa, the ones that have nothing compared to us and yet we complain so much!! i love this idea of donating to the orphans and let me tell you it really makes me want to do a million squares for them. Im happy that i joined this charity!!

And we are glad to have you here!

It's a shame that the other charity came across as rude enough to make you feel like you needed to turn away, as you are clearly a kind-hearted woman who just wanted to do your bit for other people.

We are not picky about colours or size or type of yarn here at all! The only thing we ask is that the squares are about 8" in size and thick enough to be warm. you cna also make hats, sweaters, vests, baby blankets, mittens - you name it, but mainly we focus on blanket squares.

I tihkn you will find that you will never run across such an attitude here, and I hope you stay with us for a long time.
Hope you will be happy doing crochet for this charity. Many of us have found it to be very beneficial personally as well as giving the opportunity to do something worthwhile. If you look at the photos you will see that everyone brings to it what they can, in the knowledge that all the gifts will be appreciated. The members are very supportive and friendly and I just keep learning new things every day.
Welcome to KAS Michelle. I have a friend who is sight impaired so always uses capital letters in her emails and I have to keep reminding myself that she isn't shouting at me, lol. It's easy enough mistake to do. Hope you enjoy yourself here. You can join one of the groups for different countries and natter away on there or check out the photos. Some of the quality of work is amazing. I live out in the bush so my level of work is more rough and tumble, bush league. heh heh heh. But I do my darndest with what I've got and that's all any of us can do. We really do seem to inspire each other and I just love coming onto this site, it always makes me happy.
welcome, as others have already mentioned, this is a wonderful group.
Hi Michelle! It's lovely to have you. You've definitely found a group of very lovely, warm, generous people in KAS. I very much hope that you do knit 1 million squares (although that could be asking a bit much, that would make approximately 33, 333 blankets!). Good luck and feel free to chat, ask questions and generally have a good time x x x
P.S. Michelle have you signed up for the ezine? If not you should do so, it will keep you updated with all the goings on in KAS. Here is the link just in case:

Hi Michelle, welcome to the group. We are so glad you are here. This is an awesome group of people and they are all friendly. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. I have made some good friends on here.
Hi Michelle,
welcome to KAS - I'm sure you can guess already how warm and kind everyone is here. I check in everyday to see what has been going on in the community and I always find something uplifting to read, find useful tips and hints and most of all I am inspired by the work shown in all the photo's and that's just the tip of the iceberg because we don't get to see every thing that arrives here in South Africa and we don't see all the hard work done by the women who put all these squares together. Your work will be received with open arms and heart-felt thanks.
You are right. I cant believe how happy and kind are the people in this forum it really makes me feel welcome. Every single picture i See there is a volunteer smiling, thats what inspires me to start with the squares. Thank you all for the warm welcome ;)
Hi Michelle, I just spotted your intro and wanted to say that I agree with you. KAS seems to be a most welcoming and appreciative group of people and who wouldn't want to help these kids. Your heart just melts when you see the photographs. I only learnt to crochet a few weeks ago but i am delighted to have a use for all of my wool left overs. I am working on a patch bundle and hope to have enought to post soon. Happy stitching.
