Louise, thank you for this report.  It is unimaginable to most of us to think of dear little ones suffering in this way.  I agree with others ... thank goodness for organizations such as KAS and MNCP who work tirelessly to help those in such horrendous situations.

So good to hear of the work we can do to help such an valuable organization as MNCP.  This is inspiring for us to continue to help the children of Africa.

The Gogo's (grandmothers) play such a vital role in South Africa as many of them are raising their orphaned grandchildren. KAS has many gogo groups who help to sew squares together, they are paid a small amount of approx. $1 per blanket and they use this money to purchase food to feed their grandchildren or buy other items such as soap which they couldn't afford without the money from KAS.
MNCP help to support large groups of gogos too. They provide school uniforms, access to JAM feeding programs and assist with referrals to medical treatment. and social work intervention.
Many gogos live in very poor conditions and struggle to provide food, clothes and an education for their dependant grandchildren.
Two MNCP volunteers recently visited a gogo in her home, below is a short report and a few photos.
A PEEK INTO ONE OF THE GOGO'S HOMES

Our wonderful friends Sarah Pennington and Dorothy Marshall visited one of the elderly Gogos (Grannies) at Ezinketheni. She is 80+ years old and living in these terrible conditions. But thanks to Sarah and Dorothy who will be raising support to help this granny. God bless you Sarah and Dorothy!

Speechless!!

Thank goodness for caring people, such as Sarah and Dorothy.

Too true Bev......what would happen without organisations such as KAS and MNCP?  They are a lifeline for gogos and children.

So good to see this report and that people can do fundraising to help. Bless the KAS and MNCP workers who put their time into these settlements. A small sum of $ can help so much. Bless the volunteers who give so much of their time.

Thank you Louise for the updates, this really brings home why KAS and other organisations such as MNCP are so very important.
