CURRENT FINANCIAL REPORT

Our monthly donors continue to be the backbone of financial support

for Knit-a-Square.

These monthly donations allow KAS to continue to serve the children of South Africa.

Thanks to generous one-time donations and numerous purchases in the KAS Shop, the May total has surpassed our expectations.

However, Ronda is being hit with a charge for every parcel arriving at the moment - the postal services are trying to make a profit at our expense! We will need extra help financially until such time this issue can be resolved. The most effective method is a regular subscription as this develops a sense of growth and hitting a target more likely!

Thank you to those who are able to support Knit-a-Square financially as well as with knit or crochet items.

Here are the graphs for April.

Thanks for the updated graphs, Linda.  It is great to see that the amount of the Income from Subscriptions is almost back up to what it was in January, after seeing it fall in February and March. The subscriptions are the most important part of our fundraising efforts and give some stability to Ronda's ability to plan ahead for several months.

Thank you Linda and Andrea for making this very important information available to us.

I have my fingers crossed that May will be a bumper month for GOGO support. ('Wrap a child in a blanket' in the KASShop) When I think of them doing all that sewing and sometimes crocheting around the edges, too, to receive just $2 per blanket, I am humbled. They do an amazing job!!!

Thanks Linda and Andrea it is so helpful to have a graph. It is wonderful that the subscriptions are coming along and  here's hoping for a real boost for mother's day in the KAS shop.

A slight adjustment to the graphs.  It was discovered that the PayPal fee had not been deducted from the Shop items for 2018.  It has now been corrected.  PayPal charges a fee for each transaction whether it is a monthly subscription, one time donation or a Shop purchase.

Shop orders remain the same:

Thank you for the update, Linda.  :))

With gratitude to or Gogos I donated for Mothers Day as a thank you to their tireless efforts in sewing our squares into beautiful blankets.

Thank you so much for the graphs Linda!

The Gogo Appeal was very popular.

That's fantastic. Highlighting certain aspects of our financial needs obviously encourages one-off donors. And, of course, the gogos are such cause that everyone can relate to.

Thomas now collects the parcels and waits to pay the duty required each Monday using the KASVan then takes the parcels to the KASBarn, and, has done so for many months this year. Ronda has been an absolute stalwart over the years in making the collections, often with no help, but it has become far too much for her.

For this month we would like to appeal to our members for financial support in order to pay Thomas a small stipend to ensure that we are able to retain his services, and, prevent Ronda from being tempted to return to this weekly task!

Last month we received some wonderful donations, plus several monthly subscriptions which have greatly helped towards the Gogo Appeal. Thank you.

Our other growing concern is that KAS has to pay duty on EVERY parcel that arrives now. This means that, sadly, we still need an extra flow of cash. We are hoping that when Ronda returns to full health she may be able to get some advice in order to stop these additional postal charges to our charity.

If you have any spare pennies, or, can consider a subscription to support Thomas to continue collecting the parcels, it would greatly be appreciated. Thomas is a much- needed, much appreciated 'muscle man' for our SA Team.

Thank you for giving this your consideration.

FINANCIAL REPORT

KAS supplied blankets, hats, handwarmers and toys to over 5,500 children in 2017.  If Ronda’s wishes come true, in 2018 even more children will receive the gift of warmth and love from around the world.

See how you may help!
