Square Circle Forum

What an honour!  A year or so ago, a KAS member Anne Beatty put us in touch with Andrew Geoghan who is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's (ABC) foreign correspondent in South Africa.  I wrote to him but there was an election and many other things in between including the upcoming World Cup.

So we were delighted when we were contacted by the ABC, and very swiftly, last Thursday Andrew and his crew visited Ronda and the team at her home and then went on to Sister Sato's Vuselela Community Health Centre as part of a piece on Nelson Mandela's 92nd birthday.

It is a short, but it gets across the work you are all going.  Well done everyone, you have each of you made a historic connection to this very iconic, special, much loved, heroic man in your work for the children.

I wonder if Mr. Mandela's aides and staff have seen the footage?
Anne and Sandy, the seed you planted so long ago has finally germinated, but gosh, it certainly bloomed on the perfect day ! Well done Team KAS.
I suppose this proves the adage "good things come to those who wait"? :D

FANTASTIC!!!!
Maggie Stevenson, a new member who lives in Spain, joined KAS because of an article published in a free magazine called The Andalucian (Oct.2010). The article (with a couple of photos) is by Jo Shovelton-Fullick and speaks very highly of the work that we are all doing in making a difference to the lives of such disadvantaged children.

Maggie kindly sent me a copy of the magazine, but, however much I tried I could not get a link. The magazine is published by Andalucian Auctions. I'm going to try and make direct contact and see if I can obtain an e-mail copy. Meanwhile I'll post the hard copy to Sandy for their archives, but not until I've copied out the Pumpkin Pasta recipe that is on the opposite page!
