Square Circle Forum

I've noticed a few comments from time to time that some people would like to have a KAS brochure, which might be easier to scatter around shops, waiting rooms and the like.  I've been thinking about it for some time and finally put fingers to keyboard  to produce the attached.  Please feel free to let me know if I've made any mistakes or, indeed, if you would like to see anything changed.  I have no pride of authorship and am happy to make alterations and improvements.  I've saved it as a .pdf document which is attached here.

Incidentally, the little grey arrows on the "outside" are the fold lines!

Elaine, I love it. Thank you so much for this  - I have printed out a batch which are in my shop-window and I am sure that many will be taken. I have been meaning to do something similar for ages and now it's done - thank you,
Elaine this is brilliant. Thanks so much for using your skill and expertise. I'm at a hospital fete on Sat pm and will take these or flyers...do all printers do double-sided I wonder. Will check with my tech adviser! I think a brochure format is a lot more "solid" somehow, less likely to be overlooked. Thankyou.
Hi Anne, I think my printer does double-sided printing but I don't know how to make it work!  I usually just print one side, take it out, turn it round and print the second side.  It takes a bit of experimenting to make sure the second side doesn't print upside down but I get there in the end!  You see, my "skill and expertise" is really just "trial and error"!!
Elaine, this is perfect for handing out.  I shall print off a few copies to keep in my purse.  Thank you !
Thank you Elaine for all the time and effort you have been putting into the Squillion campaign - these brochures and the posters will certainly help Spread-theWord!  Well done also for the design and clarity!  I'll be printing them to place on our market stall - they are much easier to display than a flyer.
I've just discovered that, by converting the original Word document to .pdf, the margins changed and the folds don't work without slicing off the left and right margins.  Here are my original Word documents which will work better I think.

I don't know where to put this but Minmalist Knitter has the Knit a Squillion challenge on her website . She said a friend from Ravelry told her about it. She has written a whole post about it. Only thing was she said we only wanted acrylic squares. However, I really don't want to criticise as it is really good.
Sue thanks very much for this info. Please could you delete this posting and place it in Spread-the-Word 2011 discussion page then into Publicity?  If it is at all possible would you add the complete web address for Minimalist Knitter.  It is so useful to have all these lovely links in one place.  Hopefully, some of her followers will log onto to KAS and then rectify the 'acrylic squares only' message - best leave it with them.....  It is very good of her to give KAS a mention.

This is a great bit of publicity and someone who knits for KAS has commented on the acrylic reference.http://minimalistknitter.typepad.com/mk/2011/08/knit-a-squillion-wi...

and others are taking up the challenge and putting it on their blogs, eg: http://www.worsted-knitt.net/blog/11/08/04/knit-squillion-squares-a...

(I'll move this with Sue's later Pam)

I've just left a dozen copies in my local hairdressing salon and another dozen in my dentist's waiting room.  I explained to the dental receptionist what it was about - she had seen me crocheting whilst I was waiting for my appointment - and said she would certainly take a look at it herself.  Definite maybe!!
Pam J. and I tried to leave some of these brochures in the craft section of a local garden centre but without success.  However, I then went down to my local hairdressing salon and discovered that the dozen or so I left there a couple of weeks ago have all gone!  I'm taking some more in next week....
