Square Circle Forum

This tip appeared in an old discussion which may have been deleted - but it is a real time saver. wish I could remember who posted this originally.

When knitting squares - cast on, knit one row, on second row knit in the 'tail' for four or five stitches and clip off end......  one less end to sew in.

Anne, good idea to repeat such tips, as they get lost in the annals of cyber files

Do this during the knitting of garments - why didn't I think of doing it at the beginning of the square?? Thank you!
I usually do it when striping as well. At least it gets rid of half the tails.
Two thumbs way up. This works for crocheters too. All tips repeated are gratefully recieved. :)
This was a great tip for me. After learning about it in the discussion, I started doing it with my crocheting ... love how it saves from weaving in the ends.
Dear Anne,

Thanks for the great tip, is certainly a real time saver!

Warm regards,

Gosh, glad I read this. I had started doing it a while back then I got into knitting patterns and found it too ackward to do for those and then completely forgot about it when I got back to 'plain janes'! I'm in a 'plain jane' phase at the moment so glad you jogged my memory. Great tip.
