Permalink Reply by gayle DeGroot on December 12, 2010 at 10:01am Hi Peggy....II don;t really know where you are wanting this to go....I think you are a great knitter....just to think you just picked it up in the last year....I have knitted for years and years...but the truth is, I like to crochet better...My aunt taught me how to knit...and I made covers for the wooden hangers...they were very popular back then, but not so much now.but I have taught a couple of my grand kids to knit them too, and they loved it....also I do a lot of dish cloths and they are so fun to make...One year I made them for a church that hands out clothes and coats to those misfortunate...and I made and put bows on each one and they handed them out to each woman that came into the Community clothes Line...there is what I have to say...hope this site is as popular as others you have started, Peggy....Merry Christmas!!!!
Permalink Reply by Jan Wilcox on December 12, 2010 at 10:08am I knit and crochet. Knitting takes less yarn but crochet goes faster.
Permalink Reply by Ramis on December 13, 2010 at 12:31am I think there are a lot of crochet folk in KAS because KAS are asking for squares, and a lot of people who crochet have favourite squares that they like to make.
Not that it is hard to knit a square. Some people do seem to have trouble constantly working in Garter Stitch, but I don't. I know KAS don't mind what stitch the squares are made from, as long as they are warm, but most of the time I just use Garter Stitch, since it is fast.
Permalink Reply by peggy Sack on December 13, 2010 at 9:19am hum never thought of the crocheters like that having there own favorite square. I have a nieghbor I think I have mentioned before and she owns a yarn shop is a very good knitter I asked her to come over and teach me some stuff. I have this one pattern I might make. I am asking for this for xmas. I was going to ask for a blu ray player but don't really need it.
