WARM HANDS WARM HEARTS
This month, we aim to warm little hands with handwarmers, and send
them along with a heart in a square to show our love.
Here are some super examples to inspire you:
The children always need toys. Please pop one or two in your parcel if you can:
Here are some links to Patterns for you to have a try.
Lovely squares. I like the intertwined hearts.
Entwined hearts! Such a lovely idea Sharon. A child is going to feel so special.
So I had a go at the knitting pattern for the square with a heart in the centre from the pattern book. It was nice and easy to do - though as I was watching the TV and got caught up in the program I was watching I had to get a pen and paper to keep track of the row I was on........... However, it has come out at 7 1/2 inches square rather than 8 inches. I shall have to think of something to add a half inch to the square - and next time I shall try using a 5.5mm needle........
I will add the photo when I have finished the edges.
I found that I had to add some rows before I start the heart and some when I have finished...also some stitches either side, Rebecca. I also added a few rows here and there to give the heart a less pointy look, which I think is a suggested variation on the pattern page. :))
Yes, I added the two extra rows to get the less sharp points. I am hoping that moving up a needle size will fix it going forwards - it is a nice square to knit!
Wow Sharon its a beauty !
This is a LOVE-ly square, Sharon. A very effective use of the two colours :))
This effect is so striking. Very clever crafting too.
And so well done Sharon. So striking in these colors.
Eight pairs of hand warmers.
