Well right now there is a pressing need for squares...as over half of what is currently arriving in South Africa is either sweaters or hats or some such garments. We did have a poncho discussion going but this was about rain ponchos, the kind you can buy in stores made of plastic...some are too cheap to be worth sending but others are half decent and a couple can be slipped in between some squares in a package and all will be used but again this is rain capes. At the moment there is no need for "normal" ponchos, as slipover vests and Go-Overs are more needed, but again, right now the push is more for squares...and more squares. Thanks for asking!

Hi Margaret

We will soon see an announcement from Sandy about the pressing need for squares, squares and more squares so that would be a good thing to concentrate on til we have satisfies that need in SA.

However - if you have ponchos and hats that are made but not mailed, do send them along and they will be used for sure. The reason we are pushing for squares right now is just that things got a little out of balance so we are encouraging people to put their efforts into squares for the next while.

Thanks for all your efforts on behalf of KAS
thanks for your replies about the ponchos. it is good to know that squares are needed more than other things and i shall concentrate on these. i have a few vests, hats etc made, for older children, which i will send to South Africa rather than waste them.
