Square Circle Forum

Historical and current tallies of the squares and the clothing arriving in South Africa. It is interesting for you to see how these numbers are growing. Recently we have had a revised but more suitable method of putting the blankets together from Ronda, although she says that by far the greater number of blankets made are 30 or 35 squares, so she believes the average number of squares is probably closer to 30 per blanket. Going forward to work out how many blankets we have made that is what we will base the figures on.

3 x 4 (12) cot blanket (new borns)
6 x 4 (24) smallest (babies to about 3 yrs)

looks like the April race stuff started to filter in, theres a bt of a jump in numbers in there.

when oyu put months of work into this and just got back 99 squares, was it the most exciting thing that ever happened? I know that after spending hours walking up and down sticking my art lesson flyers into nearly 200 mailboxes, I was ready to give up. then I got one parents reply who said "my 14 year old wants to come," and it make 200 flyers worth it.
We were over the moon when we got those first 99 squares as the search engines had only just begun to find the website. When we got our first non-family square, we were totally thrilled. So when the squares began to flood in it was just huge celebration. We are still really excited every time we get a new tally. And the way it is building is a cause for great joy too.
Fantastic to see how the numbers have grown. Keep up the good work everyone. We CAN make a difference.
Like so many others have said before I feel so blessed to be able to contribute.
Hi Dawn, I think we will reach the 10 000 mark this month. Ingrid from Belgium has 1500 (!) squares to send - what an effort is that. And then we will have to have a global celebration, Sandy
Wow, that's fabulous of Ingrid!!! Do send on "High Fives" from me. That's awesome!
It's totally made my day! :D (y'know I don't get jealous, I just get happy that so many are doing so much...I can't due to limited energy levels but I'm soothed by others charging in full bore...I love that all health and financial levels can get in on this project and every bit counts, that's just so encouraging to everyone I think)

PJ :)
