Tally - countdown to 55,900 squares for Summer 2010! 20,980 made

Ok everyone - let's tally our squares to meet the need for 55,900 squares per Sandy's post -- make that 18 squares per month for three months times 1,000 forum members.  Please comment here with the squares you've made (not just shipped) and collected from church groups, school groups, etc... PLEASE POST AT THE END OF THE THREAD by replying to my message here via the “Reply to This” box right below this intro and above the Replies to Discussion area, please don’t reply to individuals, so I can find your updates easier - thanks! :-) Please post your total squares made so I can update the spreadsheet correctly. Thanks! I'll update the grand total every couple of days.

Hugs to you all,

Rona

TALLY 9/9/10:

TOTAL MADE: 20,980

Click below to see the number of squares per KASer - thought it would be easier to track it this way, with our growing number of contributors!  And thanks to RhondaH on Ravelry for the idea! You can view but not edit the spreadsheet.  Please let me know if anyone has any trouble viewing it, thanks:

Hi Rona: I'm sending 21 + previous 6 = 27 total. Thanks!
20 more squares from me so total is now 535.
are we anywhere near 14,500?
I have just added 10 squares to the pile

makes me 147 @26th July 2010
xx
13 more for me
new total: 90
Just posted another 20 squares bringing my total to 60
AMAZING - 14,913 as of yesterday! You all are doing a phenomenal job! :-)

As for the 2010 tally vs. this summer challenge tally, if you've been posting your squares shipped on that tally as well, please continue to do so. If you've only been posting here, continue to do that, and we'll true up with the 2010 tally at the end of August. I'll reach out to you then if there are any questions. I think that would be cleanest, but as always please feel free to chime in if you have another idea.

And PLEASE do not berate yourself if you haven't made as many squares as someone else may have -- we are all helping out of the goodness of our hearts, and every single square helps. Honestly. Please do not stress or cause hardship for yourself in any way, whether physically, emotionally, or financially. We all want to do as much as we possibly can for the children, so we need to take care of ourselves first, so we can be in a position to do what we can for others -- and that is different for everyone.

Happy Monday/Tuesday, everyone, and happy knitting/crocheting! :)
Rona, this is so fantastic! Sandy mentioned somewhere that there are squares coming in from
other places........we know not all KAS knitters and crocheters are on the Forum. I wonder if
as an encouragement we could know how the overall total including squares from others is
stacking up in relation to the total number KAS needs for the year. Is there some way we could
find out? I heard that Planet Purl has had 2200 mailed in the U.S. for them to send. Is there
any way those of us on the Forum can find out the final total up to this point in the year?
please ad another 20 for Mom and me, for a new total of 130. Thank you.
I was wondering the same thing Helen...for the small group of gals that we are in 8 weeks time things are in such a positive direction but it would be nice to know how things are on the ground in SA.
Hi
Another 273 squares going from us today
Pam Johnson & the Border Angels
Thanks
Superb Pam, what a wonderful boost to our numbers! Do remember to dip your needles and hooks in cold water occasionally to cool them off, okay?

Jeanne ;)
