Tally - countdown to 55,900 squares for Summer 2010! 20,980 made

Ok everyone - let's tally our squares to meet the need for 55,900 squares per Sandy's post -- make that 18 squares per month for three months times 1,000 forum members.  Please comment here with the squares you've made (not just shipped) and collected from church groups, school groups, etc... PLEASE POST AT THE END OF THE THREAD by replying to my message here via the “Reply to This” box right below this intro and above the Replies to Discussion area, please don’t reply to individuals, so I can find your updates easier - thanks! :-) Please post your total squares made so I can update the spreadsheet correctly. Thanks! I'll update the grand total every couple of days.

Hugs to you all,

Rona

TALLY 9/9/10:

TOTAL MADE: 20,980

Click below to see the number of squares per KASer - thought it would be easier to track it this way, with our growing number of contributors!  And thanks to RhondaH on Ravelry for the idea! You can view but not edit the spreadsheet.  Please let me know if anyone has any trouble viewing it, thanks:

Rona, Please add another 10 from me.

My total is now 28.

Three of these are "Soft Touch", with gold fluffy on (leftover from the angel that goes on top of our Christmas tree).
Two are "Clever Combos" (three strands of fine weight in different colours knitted together).
Two are "Orange we Great", (although one of these is actually half green, the orange bit is very bright).
One is "My Favourite Team" - because it is the Finish Line Square, so it is kind of for S.A. athletics fans' favourite team!

The other two are my own inspiration - a Curly Hair Pride pair...made from very soft boucle yarn.
Thanks for reminding me to head into my stash for the fine and fancy yarns to liven up my squares! These all sound like winners to me. Bravo!

Jeanne :)
Plus 3 squares for me for a total of 40.
please add 20 squares for me.

my new total is 155.

I do not envy Rona striving to keep this total updated as squares are just flying into South Africa now! :D
so nice to know that the squares are arriving
Just think, Sandy was concerned that we would all be disappointed when she first said that they really needed "just squares".
Helen, I have added in two large shipments that were received in SA from Nampak and UMDNJ, that were 2,000 and 2,250 respectively. I'll ask Sandy if there have been any others that we could add in here, but we might not be able to do so easily until our barcode label/scanning process is put in place.

Let's just keep going and know that every single square helps to keep the children warm! :-)
So are you saying the real number of squares isn't 15,000+ but 4250 above that?
Jeanne, those two shipments are included in current totals. If you check the spreadsheet they are listed on dates added
xx
Yeah - we've broken 15,000! 15,258, so sweet -- I can't wait for the remaining need to keep coming down! :-)

Thanks everybody, you are all KASStars!!!!
I think this is amazing when you think of the small number of people [proportionately ]who are in this tally. Lets hope some more big contributions come in to SA next month from some of those corporate teams to give us another boost!
