I really love seeing all the photos, and especially the children with their bears and other gifts, it just melts my heart. Some of them are so happy, and some look so uncertain, probably because they've never had someone give them a gift before, ever!
The ezines really "weave the threads together" of KAS--from kids and adults knitting squares together, to the mountains of packages waiting to be opened, to women stitching the blankets together, and finally the children receiving them--it really is a worldwide effort and yet it makes me feel so connected!
And I saw something I sent! Not a square I made, but an old wool blanket I found at a thrift store and felted. Rather than cut it into squares I sent it whole, thinking it could be the center of a larger blanket. And that looks like just what happened. The picture of the group of kids crowded into the back of the van--the little boy in the center is wrapped in a blanket with a blue and green plaid center--that's what I sent. What a connection to see something I touched and packaged now wrapped around that sweet little boy half a world away. It makes it so much more real.
Don't fret about the length of the ezines Sandy, I enjoy every word and every photo!
