Square Circle Forum

I really love seeing all the photos, and especially the children with their bears and other gifts, it just melts my heart. Some of them are so happy, and some look so uncertain, probably because they've never had someone give them a gift before, ever!

The ezines really "weave the threads together" of KAS--from kids and adults knitting squares together, to the mountains of packages waiting to be opened, to women stitching the blankets together, and finally the children receiving them--it really is a worldwide effort and yet it makes me feel so connected!

And I saw something I sent! Not a square I made, but an old wool blanket I found at a thrift store and felted. Rather than cut it into squares I sent it whole, thinking it could be the center of a larger blanket. And that looks like just what happened. The picture of the group of kids crowded into the back of the van--the little boy in the center is wrapped in a blanket with a blue and green plaid center--that's what I sent. What a connection to see something I touched and packaged now wrapped around that sweet little boy half a world away. It makes it so much more real.

Don't fret about the length of the ezines Sandy, I enjoy every word and every photo!

It's fantastic when you see something you have made being used and obviously valued so much. It just gives you that extra connection and motivation to do more because you can see the evidence of how you have helped and that it is all worth it (the postage, the knitting cramps, the spare room that is now an avalanche of wool, the living room that has yarn all over the place etc). Contributing to this and seeing it actually makes a difference in such a basic way is great and worth everyones effort.

Have just seen more of my squares too - glad they are getting there.
Keep up the long e-zine and photos are always a huge emotional trigger to produce more squares.
It is great that one can be a novice or experienced and still be an equal in our contribution. There is a great feeling of pulling together and being supportive with photos of everyones fantastic work.
I agree! All your ezines are great Sandy! Always so meaningful to see the things we send to South Africa arrive there. Love the stories and the photos. Don't ever worry about your ezines being too long!

Here's the photo of the kids in the van - there's a felted square of mine in the photo too! :o)

I check my emails in the morning before going to class, and it's always such a joy to see another ezine sitting in my inbox. its such a good thing to read first thing in the morning before starting my day.
Oh wow ladies, I hadn't read this before, thank you so much. It is always wonderful to get this feedback.
