My Mother who passed away 18 months ago used to collect TY beanie babies. On clearing the house my brother to my horror through out a bin bag full. My daughter salvaged anouther bin bag full and has given them to me! They are all brand new and i wondered if it would be ok to put the odd one in each time i send a parcel. I could only send one or two as they would be expensive to post due to the weight. Any ideas? I know my Mum would have loved them to go to the children in Africa.

I think that would be absolutely wonderful Alison. We often have "Pooh Bear" moments and drop little pressies into our parcels. I think beanie babies would be lovely for the children. Go right ahead!
I know it seems criminal to the collectors but just remember to take off their labels/tags so that they are second hand and not commercial. Funnily enough, my sister was doing a clear out and gave me hers. i too will be popping one in here and there each time I send a parcel. SA will be awash with little cuddly beanies.

I know about the tags my Mum used to buy little plastic things to cover them up!. I was going to cut them off as they aren't suitable for young kids if you leave them on. Very often my mum would give our kids one each on her visit up and i could see her cringing as i pulled out the scissors for the fatel snip! I'm just so pleased they can go to a good cause.
Oh yes, I think this is a super idea. I do wish your brother could tell you where he tossed the other ones...hopefully someone saw them and they're now being used to good effect. I am quite sure your mum is smiling over your intentions from where she is now. I have a red teddy bear one with a Canadian flag on it and you're right, he does have abit of weight but they're so sturdily made that even one here and there will be adored. I'm sure they've got nothing like it over there, not the people we're dealing with anyways. :) You've put a smile on my face. Thanks!
