Square Circle Forum

Using FB to spread the word about KAS programs in schools

I think KAS should make more use of posting on FB to advertise about the organization, to advertise about school programs, to discuss the plight of the millions of orphaned children, to promote the "Square Shop" etc.  I see other organizations doing this and it is a constant reminder of the organization and its goals and the ways in which you can help.

Sandy, the founder, is moving to a smaller home very shortly, but after the family are settled she hopes to be able to devote a specific number of hours per week back on the KAS Forum.  These are excellent ideas Susan and it is great that you have flagged them up.  As an organization we are in that catch-22 situation, whereby we do not receive enough donations to pay Sandy a small stipend to run KAS, consequently Sandy has had to build a new business and hasn't been able to put in so much energy.  Thankfully, KAS members have helped to keep the momentum going.   Over the past couple of years over 20 foundations have been approached - with the inevitable completion of numerous pages of paperwork - but so far we've not received a grant that would progress KAS substantially.  Maybe soon..........
Thank you for taking the time to reply.  It sure is amazing to me just how much you accomplish as a group of volunteers and that your hearts are so big to do so.   The world would be a far better place if more people felt this way.

Hi Susan

Have you been to our facebook page? https://www.facebook.com/Knitasquare

Facebook is indeed a great medium, unfortunately there just aren't enough hours in the day! We do what we can and our facebook page is very active. You're right though, we could probably talk more about school programs etc.

Thanks for the suggestion.
