Square Circle Forum

A couple of people have had trouble using the Paypal link on the right of this page to make their  monthly donations.

If you encounter any problem, please post in this discussion and we will try to solve this problem.  It has worked fine for some of us

Also in this category you will see a "closed discussion" - Monthly donations - I have closed that one so that people will post problems/successes in THIS discussion to avoid confusion.

Keep trying if you have a problem.  Mary Lokkken solved hers by going to the main KAS site and using the link from there.

Don't give up!!!  this is tremendously important for our kids..

OK - I will start off - link on the right of this page works fine from my location in Canada - donation went through successfully.
Hi Anne: Just managed "Pay Pal" - my problem (after 4 tries) was putting my phone number in incorrectly - what they want is XXX XXX XXXX - not XXX/XXX-XXXX (United States) if that helps anyone get in. Anyway, done!!!
I didn't have any problem from UK either using the link given but I did already have a PayPal account.
I have an account too - one of my problems was trying to make the donation without logging in, so I had to stop and hunt up my password etc. Too many passwords in my life!!! Thanks for the feedback, Christine.
Oh yes, I did have to find my password but I thought that was just me!
Laurie - I had a little glitch too - think it as the way I spaced my credit card #, but after a second try it went through. sensistive little dickens this Paypal, what??
I haven't had any problems, not sure if this helps anyone though. This can make such a difference.
Like Mary E. Amundsen I need to make one lump sum payment for the year. That is the way my husband prefers it. (i.e. instead of $5 a month, a lump sum payment of $60 for the year) I need to know what way is preferred. Last time I checked for Mastercard it was still asking for Australian territories rather than Canadian provinces. Could I send a money order in South African Rands or in Australian dollars? To either Sandy or Ronda? Thanks for any help on this.

Jeanne :)
Jeanne - when I did my donation, (not Mastercard - other credit card) there was a drop-down menu to choose your country - did you see that?? I imagine all the card companies do it by country - so my card is registered in Canada as your would be. Tried to outfox Paypal and pretend I was making a donation through MC - but it was going to complicate what I had already done.. might worth tryng again to see if you do see a drop-down.
I have a PayPal account already and it went through just fine; making monthly installments for a year for now; these children and everyone involved in trying to make this work all are well worth more than a minute to contribute monetarily to this project I believe. I'm very happy I can help a little more than just knitting squares, hats, cuddles, etc. The last letter from Sandy of the small children lying on cracked linoleum, no shoes on the kids feet with blankets around them, etc.; it just tore at my heartstrings. Who wouldn't help if they could!! Thanks Sandy for sending this!!
Anne...what if you don;t have a pay pal account...could you just use a credit card...I had trouble with someone else using my pay pal a couple times....so I closed it for safety reasons....so please advise me what to do...
Hi Gayle - although I have a Paypal account, I think this is only the second time I have used it so I am no expert on whether you can make a payment through them without an account. Hopefully someone else who uses it more, will wade into this discussion. We did have another option for the appeal before Christmas - and that was to send a cheque to KAS in Australia - which is the option I chose and it worked fine - my cheque was cashed. I suppose that only is practical if you chose to make one payment for the year. Sandy will soon be back in Australia, so I am sure she will have sosme advice and things to say then, so let's wait and see what she has to say.
