Square Circle Forum

How to change colours in round 2:  With first loop of colour B on hook,  YO with A, and complete FPDC  (remembering to change back to colour B to complete the stitch)

It sounds complicated but when you have tried it once it will become clear. (  See attachments  below)

Also, if you are unsure of the pattern, make it the first time using one colour.

Stitch:

FPDC (front post double crochet )Yarn over. Insert hook around post of  stitch from right to left. Yarn over, complete DC as usual     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIu4HfUpvsY

Great pattern for small balls of yarn. Once you have made the square change colours as you wish !

Hi Barbara,

I'm glad you have a good crochet teacher.  It is easier to learn with someone than by yourself.....even with help from KASisters !

Once Keri helps you with the FP it will be, as you said, a matter of practise, practise, practise !!!

I love Tunisian crochet.  When I have odds and ends of yarn I knot them together and then use the Tunisian stitch to make a lovely thick square.

Keep crocheting :-)

Linda xx

Hi Linda, love your colourful square and although I prefer knitting to crochet I am going to give it a go.    Will let you know how it comes out.
Marci, pleased you like the square.  Looking forward to a photo !

I have only just found these while pottering around the forum Linda - just gorgeous.  I am not great at crochet but these will tempt me to have another go.  I have a basket full of small balls to use up - I have been doing stripy squares but they need a lot of sewing in the ends so these could be the answer.

These are gorgeous, Linda-I will have to try them very soon. I also like the idea of using up all the odds and ends of yarn-I always have lots of these as I hate to anything out that I could possibly find a use for! Although I have crocheted for about 50 years I have never tried Tunisian crochet(though needless to say I have at least two hooks!) so perhaps that will be one of my challenges for this year!

I have just had a lovely evening doing one of these squares - I am up to 6" square so need to carry on a bit but I really enjoyed doing it.  Started with one colour only as recommended by Linda but will try more colours next time.  Thanks Linda!

Pam, looking forward to a photo !  Pleased you enjoyed the pattern.  Two colours will be a "breeze" :-)
