Sometimes it is good to air your problems.

My name is Jennifer and I am a yarnaholic.

Thankfully my stash doesn't look all that scary in this picture. Okay not quite all of it is here and some of is is hiding behind others but it doesn't seem too bad does it? I'm sure there are many more of you with bigger bundles lurking in your homes.

To the left is 2 baby blankets for family babies, a big pile of squares I'm working on for KAS and my March hats which I haven't posted yet. To the right is a bundle of pieces for a friends wedding present blanket which is cream and light blues. The very front has a bundle of beautiful cotton/silk mix that I bought a year ago to make a throw-over for myself but haven't gotton round to it yet. Front right is one of my hat looms with a hat started on it. 2 of my other sized looms also have the beginnings of hats. I wanted them all to be started for a talk I am doing at the end of the month so that everyone there can have a go at hats, knitting or crochet. No one will escape having at least a little go.

Well I have shown you mine, now you show me yours (if you think you're brave enough)

Thank you all for the compliments on my scarves and socks-I am blushing! I too could not understand why anyone would want to knit socks when they are so cheap to buy till I was seduced by some gorgeous self-patterning sock wool(who was it said I can resist everything except temptation? so true of me and yarn!) Now I am a convert and am halfway through my fourth pair, with more yarn stacked up-they are so cozy to wear and very satisfying to finish and so far I have not succumbed to the dreaded SSS (second Sock syndrome) so I do actually have pairs to wear! lol ( I have used Opal or Regia self-patterning yarn and a very basic pattern that came with the Opal wool)

Wow, Charis..just took a look at your socks and scarves...they look like machine knitted-shop bought ones. They are gorgeous. Well done!

Yes I know that addiction to self patterning sock yarn It is the only self patterning yarn we get here so I just had to try some ! Now I have two pairs of socks to finish but I'll wait till winter now.

Question:  I see the sock yarns, love them, see crochet patterns for them even...however, does one wear through them faster than regular socks?  That's what's always stopping me from buying sock yarn, the worry it just will wear through in no time, literally in days.  Is that true?

My sister buys at a yarn shop reinforcing thread that you add with the yarn in the toe and heel area and hers wear really good..

Brain of a Kaser?

That is funny...but true! Very clever.

Yes, definitely !

Oh dear, does this mean I am considered a "woolly brain" ?

For more knitting inspiration check this out..... a psychiatrist in the States has knit an anatomically correct brain !!

Yes Linda, after being with babies and small children all week (childcare) I am convinced that the knitted version of a brain is exactly how mine feels and surely looks too!

I know what you mean.  Young ones keep you busy ....but also keep you young !!

I agree, that's very funny.  I always thought the only people you could call "woolly brained" were sheepherders, but now I'm wondering... :)
