That's great Gitta, we really need lots of interest from the members to get more knitting happening!
Thanks Sandy :) Same to you :) I have been more active on the forum so far this year. LOL, part of my new year resolutions ;)
Hello dear SA KasFolk, a happy belated New Year. Hope to spend a bit more time in the forum and groups this year, so have just sent a broadcast and posted a discussion about the challenges for the year. I would be so grateful if you could hop on in there and add your ideas and thoughts. The suggested list is by no means set in stone. A vibrant conversation will inspire people to knit and crochet more and the mantra never changes: more hands, more squares, more warm children. Hope to chat to you in there. Sandy
Happy New Year and may all your dreams come true in 2012 :)
I posted this in the "help" section and Pam suggested I post here too:
I live in the Joburg area and would like to come help open and sort with my friend and our kids. We are hoping to be able to come next year in the week before school starts on 17 Jan.
Can someone please let me know what I need to do to make arrangements to help open and sort?
Thanks!
Hi there, I will check OK Bazaars when I am in Port Elizabeth the next time. A Merry Christmas to you too :)
Hi all... Have just read the thread below... I have most often found wool available at Checkers too, but OK Bazaars sell quite a good range of colours too. It's not the most fabulous quality wool tho. In JHB, the best range I have seen is at the Oriental Plaza in Fordsburg (if you're prepared to go all the way out there). China Mart in Bruma also has a reasonable range.
Wishing you all a peaceful, happy Christmas and festive season. Hope you are all surrounded with loved ones and celebration.
Chat in the new year...
xoxo
Erin
Hi Julia, I see you are one of the "swallows" :)
Thank you for the information Gitta. I will look for the wool when I come back in January as I will have a couple of months to do some knitting.
yes, the Checkers brand is sold in the supermarkets of the same name. They sell them in 100g balls for R14.95. I also like the Lollipop brand for the colours, but the wool itself is very unevenly spun and I have been told it will no longer be imported to SA in the future. I am looking forward to the photo of your "rug" Julia.
