Love your pictures Elizabeth. Maybe we can do more like this. Just need to coordinate the colors.

Beautiful square, Elizabeth!  If you check out my page, I crocheted a Bethany Easter butterfly out of sparkly yarn and put it on one of my squares called "Sun, sky, and butterfly."  I think it's a great idea to put pictures of our squares out on the Bethany Squares forum page.

You are encouraged to post a picture of your square. If you made a special or unusual one or a square representing the KAS monthly theme, feel free to show it off before it gets stuffed in a package and mailed to South Africa.

I made these two butterflies - one bright pink and another lime green. Margaret had some yarn - bright pink and lime green and knitted squares to match the colors of these two butterflies100_2467.JPG. And these butterflies are going to fly off to South Africa soon. Since our church Easter theme is butterflies, it seems appropriate that a couple of butterflies fly across the ocean to South Africa.

I noticed on the United States group forum that there is a request for 600 beanie caps for underprivileged children playing soccer in Johannesburg, South Africa.  They are to be made out of both red yarn and white yarn and fit children ages 2 to 16.  Since some of us are crocheting caps for the homeless to go in the Christmas Bags of Grace, I thought it might be fun to do some hats for this project.  There is some red yarn in the closet next to the Prayer Room on the 3rd floor.  To find out more about this project, just go to the United States Forum page and find the thread on Red and White hats Wish List from Ronda.

If any of the yarn is light weight yarn, it will be perfect for making baby booties or baby hats!  I'll check the yarn in the prayer shawl ministry area the next time I'm on the third floor.  Thanks!

Elizabeth, there is a large bag of yarn in the office just behind the door, that is full of yarn, mostly small balls. t has a copy of our add on it. Can you collect it please and take it to the prayer shawl ministry area. Thanks.

Thanks, Elizabeth.  It's nice to know that the needlecrafting groups at Bethany can share resources and materials.  Sometime this summer we'll have to have a Bethany Squares social at church and share some of our patterns.

If anyone in the Bethany Squares needs yarn, let me know. There is free yarn stored at BUMC for the Prayer Shawls, but it is also available for the squares.
