Over the past month, I have been given 4 garbage bags of yarn ( yes, garbage bags ). Adding this to my own stash means I am "snowed" under with yarn. I would like to share with you.
Most of it is acrylic but there is also a large bag of chunky 75% acrylic/25% wool in various colours.
Would you like some yarn????? I am willing to mail anywhere in Canada (postage included ).

Permalink Reply by P. Jeanne Haessler on May 13, 2012 at 5:53am Wow, what a superb treasure hunt and find. You just never know what will turn up! (My daughter just went rummage sale-ing and told me she found me some yarn and crochet hooks for less than $2.) I am sure if it is washable wool, and you include either the wrapper or a short note to the girls in South Africa, everything will be great. The cuddle is going to look awesome I think. And with their rainy season coming up, and wool staying warm even if it gets wet, what a great gift for a baby...and in Chunky yet. Oooh, what a deal!
What a good deal ! What colours did you find ?
I'm itching to start on my yarn but first, I must finish a baby blanket for the latest family arrival....a grand-nephew. It's amazing that the parents know so soon what the gender is of the child. The baby won't be born until the end of July ( at least modern medicine can't be 100% accurate on that ) The baby shower is June 3rd.
Permalink Reply by Laurie Fortier on May 17, 2012 at 2:45am Hi ladies! I'm a bit shy to mention this, but... I am pursuing the dream of having my own yarn shop. The yarns I sell are pricey, but I give a 15% discount and free shipping. Plus for three of the yarns, I give all the profit ($10 a skein) to KAS. I would love for you to have a look. You could always ask for a gift certificate! :)
Thanks so much!

Permalink Reply by P. Jeanne Haessler on Friday Lovely yarns. I don't know what size 7 needles means as I crochet. Is this worsted weight yarn? I might buy a skein to treat myself when my Income Tax comes in.
Permalink Reply by Laurie Fortier on Friday Thanks so much Jeanne! Good point (no pun intended!). They are all worsted weights.
Finished the Cuddle made with the recently purchased yarn. It was lovely to work with. I used a 6.00 mm hook and a single crochet stitch. I'm thinking I might look for a sleeper to tuck inside the Cuddle. Our local Zellers store is closing and everything is on sale. I was in earlier this week and bought undershirts and socks but didn't think to check for a sleeper. I'll just have to go back !!
