What a beautiful church, Jennifer.  How lovely to hear that the people will be making squares for Knit-a-Square.  Love the photo !

This my church, New Hope Baptist, in Rosewood Heights, Illinois, USA

They have just made a commitment to make squares through the end of July for Knit-a-Square. I am so excited!

I saw this and I thought of KAS:

She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

— Proverbs 31:20

Love and Blessings to all at KAS as we enter a new month.  How uplifting to see all the beautiful work people do.  Viewing the photos page is a happy thing to do.  So much work, ideas and inspiration.

Cherry:  My prayers are with your Grandfather that he will be strong and his health will hold and he will recover.  I pray that your Mom will be able to feel centred and have Peace in her heart and mind during this time of stress and fear.  I pray your Uncle will be comforted and have strength for the family.  Cherry, I pray for you, my dear friend, as you have prayed for me during the past year.  Hold tight.  The Lord is with you all, no matter what the earthly outcome.  Lean on His strength when yours fails.  (My stepdad is 90 also.)  Let us all pray that your Grandfather will see another Father's Day and he will be well.

Hi everybody,
My grandfather who is 90 is being rushed to the hospital with chest pains, and my mom is scared. Please pray that if it is the Lord's will he makes it, and for peace for my mom and uncle. It's been 40 mins now and we haven't heard a thing. She was really hoping to get to see him for Father's Day in June. Please pray.

What a lovely poem Jeanne... I love Easter and the promise of new hope!

How this world needs to find that hope today... and I am just finishing and preparing to send 4 navy blue scarves.

I am finishing up navy scarf no. 7 however I will then join the April challenge and do some squares. The navy scarves I send now won't get there in time for the end of April anyways but Ronda has asked for them throughout the year to stockpile for next year so I will continue to make some but I do want to focus on the little orphans who don't even have school uniforms and make for them first.  The navy scarf is optional. I recommend it as worthwhile if you have time and energy for it but the AIDS/HIV orphans are our first and greatest cause. i am hoping to hear of many knitting kits given out by the drug company.  We shall see.

Meanwhile I wish to leave this poem with you, by Ida Norton Minson:

Twilight.  And on a dusty beribboned way,

Out from Jerusalem, two travelers walked.

Gray shadows touched their feet, but deeper lay

The shadows in their hearts.  They softly talked

Of days just passed, of hopeless days in view,

Of boats, of nets, the while their eyes were dim;

Of Galilee, the work they used to do,

Their voices often stilled, remembering Him.

A stranger also walked that way, and when

They sensed his nearness, some new sympathy

Assuaged their grief.  Old hopes came warm again

As, in the dusk, he kept them company...

Thus, through the troubled twilight of today

Emmaus road has stretched its shining thread

And still Christ walks beside men on the way,

To hold the light of hope, to break the bread.
