You will be very pleased to know that the strike has ended!

THE POSTAL STRIKE IN SOUTH AFRICA IS OVER  - OFFICIAL!

Wendy collected 27 boxes and 24 large mail bags full of post today and Bryanston expect to receive post for KAS from the central sorting depot - everyday! It took three trips, so the team will be having an opening day Thursday!

Not to worry, Sue....can't be helped when you don't know. When the strike is over a notice will be put in the 'news flash' box, on the right hand side of any page you go to on KAS. Thank you for your continued support.  :))

I think the strike is into its third month now, so it has been going for a loooong time and that is why they are concerned about getting too many parcels piling up at the other end of the journey.  :))

I didn't know there was a postal strike and sent a box a couple of weeks ago, even the guy at the post office didn't tell me

The Postal Strike is not yet resolved and all of us have squares piling up, but please do not give in to the temptation to send them by a courier service! A few parcels have arrived this way, and it is causing big problems for Ronda.

Please read the discussion at

Awesome!  Love the song and the clip, hope it brings lots more squares in to KAS. Well done Gloria!

Our own Gloria Grandy [with help from her family] has created a wonderful video for KAS.  It will have you tapping your toe and singing along with this very catchy tune.

The Knit-a-Square Song … A great way to spread the word!

Here is the video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGvqcUZ4OGs&feature=youtu.be

Please share the video with family and friends.  Also add your comments  on Gloria’s October challenge   http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/october-challenge-share...

PS I’ve also added the music video to the Main Page of the forum.

CHEAP YARN ALERT!!

If the Spotlight catalogues are nationwide then you need to know that they are offering 100g balls of 'Moda Vera Instinctive' for $1.00 a ball. 7 colours.

Hello , I have just joined.  I am at Hardwicke Bay on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. I live in a small seaside  community, surrounded by farm land..sheep and cereal cropping.  I have sent off 2 parcels  to KAS, and my 90 year old mother in Bendigo is now contributing beanies and hand warmers. I am a nurse in an Aged Care nursing home and  a 90 year old resident  is now knitting little teddies and jumpers to contribute also.

NEWS FLASH !

THE DECEMBER SQUARES LIST IS AVAILABLE.

Thanks to the dedication of the volunteers, the total of 18,684 squares is the second highest for 2014.   This is a fantastic feat considering the last two Thursdays of December were holidays [Christmas and New Year’s Day]

The S.A. team will not receive parcels in the order sent and is still attempting to clear the backlog. Please be patient and watch the Squares Lists for your name.

If your parcel is not on this list, it will be on the next one or even the one after that !

The December 2014 Squares List is available on www.knit-a-square.com “Received Squares”

Graphs for Squares, Hats and Tops are here

Please include the Packing Slip in your parcel to help the team with recording.

A NOTE ABOUT OUR PATTERN REVISIONS AND WHY THEY ARE IMPORTANT

This photo shows some excellent vests with good body length and generous armholes.  We are recommending having armholes 1/3, side seam 2/3 of total body length.
