Hi Rebecca, I will arrive with Louise and then return via Burton to Cheltenham by rail. I will bring some goodies with me. Looking forward to meeting you and members of your group.

The toy day sounds awesome! I'm hoping to buy a few toys in the next few weeks and post them out as I'm unlikely to knit any in the next while!

Rebecca, what a lovely idea. I will be travelling to MIL's in Ashby de la Zouch that morning so should be able to get to your home by 11am. I will send you a private message to obtain your address. :))

For anyone in my part of the UK (Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire)

I am having a get together at my house to make some more toys - especially comfort dolls (knitted or crocheted) and simple teddy bears (I have only a knitted pattern for these but any crocheted ones would be just as welcome).

Date and time
Saturday 17th September between 11am and 3pm

If you are available then contact me by message and I will give you my address details - if you are travelling by car it is easy to find from the post code. The 5A bus from Leicester stops at the end of my road, and if you are coming by train then I will pop down to Melton Mowbray station and get you to save you trekking up the hill!

I have some acrylic DK that would be suitable and some clean, new stuffing material for the toys. i would be grateful if anyone who fancies joining us was able to bring along any bits of stash that they want to use up - it needs to be DK please.

Here is the invitation I put on Facebook -

I do know that it is way too early to think about Christmas - BUT……… Our post takes 3 months to get to Bryanstone and then has to be taken out to the children.

Come along and spend an hour or two - or the whole time if you like - sitting and chatting with your fellow knitters and crocheters from KAS. There will be tea and coffee and cakes or biscuits - a small donation for these will be used for posting off what we create.

We will be making “Plain Jane” squares (very easy 8 inch knitted or crocheted squares) or for those who have a little longer to work on it there will be patterns for a simple Comfort Doll or Teddy Bear.

What to bring:

Knittng needles or crochet hooks - 3.25mm / old size 10 and 4mm / old size 8 needles or 3.75 and 4mm hooks
Bright coloured double knit yarn - good stash busting - though I will have some yarn here I would be grateful if you could bring some along as well.
Sewing up needles and scissors - again I have some but not a huge amount.
Please make sure you let me know if you are coming as I will need to make sure there is room for all! We cannot guarantee good weather, but if it is dry we will be able to expand out into the garden - if not then we will be indoors. If I get loads of people saying they want to come along I will change the venue so we all fit in.

Please let me know if you are able to come along - I need to make sure that I have enough cakes / biscuits / clean mugs as well as enough room……….

You can send parcels as often as you like, as for time I was just quoting one off  mine  . if you send standard it will cost more but is supposed to be quicker.

I have 2 others in transit, now knitting for rescued dogs ,then back to KAS

Amanda , KAS do not have the staff to do personal thankyous  , if you log on to Kas and scroll down , on the side there is a  squares received , when you clik on it  takes you to a link of PDF files dated monthly, I got a parcel listed sent end of Jan recorded on the May list . If you have sent surface mail economy that is about the time span
