Square Circle Forum

Hello from Atlanta, Ga

I have a quick question. We produced 105 squares, 3 blankets worth squares. However, when mailing it the cost is too high.

I am trying to find a way to send these squares. Post office is charging 85 dollars for 24 by 36 inch box. I think it is pretty high and my charity board does not have this kind of budget and now I am not sure how can I mail these squares?
I need your inputs, please.

Thanks,
Sibel

Try using a soft plastic bag, like LL Bean and other clothing mail order companies use, instead of a box. It saves on postage fees. Some folks have held bake sales, flea markets, or holiday sales to raise money for postage. Some people have asked for those who do not knit or crochet to make a small donation for postage for this good cause. Hope these ideas help!

Will do. Thanks!

It's about $10/lb.
Yes I found plain plastic bags at Walgreens.

In the past I was able to send a box of squares for around $25. The last time I tried to mail one it was close to $100.  I’m not sure why it has gone up so much. I have decided to give money instead of sending squares but sometimes the web site is a little difficult to get my donation sent.

I’ve been able to send donations through PayPal.
