I knitted this in South Africa the DK wool I used was thicker than what I usually use and it turned out thick so was more like a rug. Maybe it can be used for a couple of children to sleep on rather than under. I will know next time to use just a single strand on a smaller needle.

I also made a really thick blanket recently (doubled 5 ply yarn). I figured 1 strand wouldn't be warm enough, but 2 would be extra snuggly. I am sure the extra warmth of this one will be really appreciated by the recipient.
This is incredible. Every square is different yet there are common themes running throughout. So beautiful.
