Welcome to KAS! We are glad you've joined us. There is a school group started by Rona Malewit that will give you ideas about starting a knitting group. I had 3rd and 4th graders knitting last year and it is lots of fun! We started by making a "bookmark," cast on 15 or so stitches and knit until it seems long enough. That was an easy first project. Then we made squares. I gave each child an 8 x 8 inch template, a KAS ruler (download from Resources tab above), a pair of #10 needles and instructions for making a square on a sticker which I stuck onto a plastic zip lock bag. I think I have the instruction sticker on the computer so I can send it if you'd like. Have fun!

Sue,
Hi! Yes, my daughter and I will be starting to knit squares this fall. Any hints for newbies like us?
