Well that's embatrassing I thought this was tormaline but thanks to MaryI see that its not !! Orange and brown rmust be some kind of gem?? Unfortunately one ball was darker than the others but I saw it in time and used that for the fronts. As usual the photo doesn't really show the orange brown combo. It has little buttons in browny orange sort of pumkins with smiles. I guess they are halloween.

Comment by P. Jeanne Haessler on February 2, 2012 at 4:39am p.s. I think smiley face buttons, even pumpkins, are a great idea. :)
I am so glad to see there are gems with this colouring. Thanks Charis and Jeanne. Apologies to Anne as it was her who provided the tormaline.
Comment by P. Jeanne Haessler on January 31, 2012 at 4:27am Great to hear from you again Sue. I too, bargain hunt for computers, when our dino went down we got a store demo computer with literally more memory than any other computer on the planet. My daughter filled it with games and it's still half empty, rather like my brain! Love these colors. I make jewellery sometimes and I've absolutely seen these colors...some of the agates and quartzes and jaspers are these colors. It's a lovely cardi! Two thumbs way up! And what cheery colors to work with in dull old January eh?
Comment by CHARIS GRIFFIN on January 31, 2012 at 3:26am Sue, according to my gemstone book you have a choice-these colours appear in carnelian agate, citrine and smoky quartz-though tourmaline appears in more colours than any other gemstone so perhaps it could still be that! Whichever it is your cardigan looks lovely and cozy!

Comment by Bev Jeffery on January 30, 2012 at 6:11pm Oh, WOW! Now I can see what you've been doing in your spare time. This is gorgeous....what lovely colours. Just the colours alone make it look warm. The buttons are sooo cute. What size/age would this fit, Sue?
