Allison, this is just gorgeous!! Great job having patience to work with your machine and getting the hang of it!! You'll be cranking them out now, I'll bet!?? This will be a treasure for some poor child and looks like it sure will wear a long time!!

Beautiful work! Love your choice of colors and addition of the crocheted flower really makes it an eye catcher.

Hi Gayle
Its a 1980s Bond machine. I was having real trouble with dropped stitches and then apart from using the usual weights i also put a clothes peg at either side of the knitting and moved it up after every 10 rows so it was still near the top. I also cast on with the double e method and have not gone down the road of ribbing although i did get a ribber thrown in with my machine which i haven't even taken out of the box! I also cast off using hand knitting. Anything to keep it simple! I also found that standing up, holding the push along thing with gentle pressure using both hands helped and not to do so too quickly!! alot to think about but i got there in the end i am terrible in the fact that i will not let a mere machine beat me!!

Alison...I was so taken by your sweater that you made on the machine....Ihave 2 of them setting in my sewing room, just never could get the hang on it...would be going along fine, and then drop a stitch or 2 and then the whole thing would be done for...I got so discouraged....but you have done one fine job on your knitting machine...I sometimes think about getting rid of them...what kind are you usuing.
