Lexie Marie
My Granddaughter: Lexie (who is 12) had a garage sale (yard sale) yesterday with a friend of hers - the girls decided to add a lemonade stand with it - everything from the lemonade stand was to go to charity - the girls decided to donate their proceeds to Knit-a-Square!!! They made about $8.00. Then, Lexie remembered that in the 3rd grade, she had made $2.50 to donate to a charity, but couldn't find a charity to give it to - sooooo, today, she gave me $10.25 total to give to Knit-a-Square!!! I will use it to mail the "African Flag" batch of square to send on the 28th!!! AREN'T KIDS GREAT!!!!

I love how children/youth can be an active part of KAS; not just in KasKids groups but also by supporting their family members in raising postage. I think $8 at a lemonade stand is quite the accomplishment. You must tell her we are all very thankful & impressed.

My daughter read this while I commented the other day and she was inspired to donate some books for the children! I guess they will just "fall" into the box when i am not looking! ;)
