My question is how to I keep an even tension and how do I get the beginning and end sides to be even.  They are a bit loose/uneven.Also I have tried knitting squares in the diagonal - starting with…Continue

"Hi Allison. My Post office lets me put N/A in the value. Some comments I have seen suggest $1.00 I think it depends on the post office. In the contents I always write - 200mm x200mm knitted squares for charity. Then in red print under the address I…"

Dilemma

I have a dilemma.  I sent off my first batch of squares at the start of November by sea mail.  I figured it would take 3-4 months to arrive.  So I kept knitting and now I have about 100 squares but haven't seen my name on any of the lists of published that show what was received. I knit in 100% wool so there is a big investment in yarn and then the postage on top of that.  I am reluctant to send more squares in case they aren't getting to KAS. I don't know what to do.  I'm thinking I should…See More

"In the value you put N/A - not applicable - the Aust. Post office accepts that. Also in the description put the squares and then KNITTING FOR CHARITY - tick 'gift' Maudie"

Welcome to KAS, Alison from around the world in Canada. Our snow is only just leaving so I'm using the time to crochet more.  Just finished a hat in a fluffy bulky yarn, it worked up fast, my favorite thing!

I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too.  Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above.  To reach the Discussions just click Forum above. Any questions just PM me. :)  So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win
