Yes, diagonals are SO easy, and you can use any yarn without worrying about gauge! Love your fantasy embroidery!

Well done Anne it will make a lovely addition to a blanket.  Regarding the holes, don't forget the children wear them double during the day.

Hi Anne

Yes, I realize that you're the knitter. As a non-crocheter Mary's work all looks like magic to me but I do knit and I can tell the difference between your work and mine. I'm adequate for KAS purposes which is why I like it but people like you inspire people like me to try harder.

Congratulations to you and Mary for winning the Square Heart. You're both an inspiration and deserve to win.

Thanks Anne....I liked the checkerboards and it used up lots of bits of colours. The downside was sewing in all the ends....might be a while before I do another one like it ! Julia

Thank you for your comments Anne
This was the last batch of Aran wool I had before I get started on a large bag of DK someone has very kindly donated when they heard that I was knitting for the children. I just put the colours together as they came out of the bag luckily they looked OK.

Hello Anne
Glad you liked my jumper. When I started knitting for KAS I was using up wool I had in the house which was a bit drab now it is nice to go out and look for nice bright colours or random wools which look so nice and colourful when they are knitted up.
