Cathy replied to Philippa Green's discussion 'Hello From the Dreaming Spires'
Hi Phillippa, your story sounds very similar to mine!  My gran taught me to knit when I was little and I used to cross stitch too...I'm also in the UK and work for Norfolk County Council.... Happy knitting - I've just returned home…

Tom is a great advocate of Freecycle.   I've thought I trying it but was rather put off when I saw masses of 'wanted' postings for wool in the two Freecycle groups near me.  Seeing your success, I might just give it a…

It had not occurred to me that I could sell the unwanted stuff to cover postage money.  Brilliant idea, thanks Pam.  I buy on E-bay but have not tried selling - will seek the assistance of younger members of the family.

Cathy, the Teddies are knitted from a pattern in Sandra Polley's book "The Knitted Teddy Bear" which I bought on "Amazon". I have adapted the pattern to make it a little less time consuming but it still needs some work as there are 13 pieces in this particular pattern. There are some lovely bear patterns in the book for bears from 4" to 21" high I can really recommend a copy.

Hi Cathy can you tell me if the Kas cuddle is made with straight and circular needles as I am not understanding the pattern. I have never worked with circular. Is the rib on straight needles and then do you change to a circular needle.

Hi Cathy, welcome to our warm KAS community. We hope you will enjoy the forum and your region's group. You should join the UK Group!

There are lots of great discussions going on in the forum, including the monthly challenges.

We are still continuing our July Challenge - keep a newborn warm, making blankets for abandoned babies, and there have been some great results for the August in Africa challenge - you can see photographs under the photos menu. (Details of both challenges in the main forum). We're also embarking on our September challenge which is also under "challenges" in the forum.

Did you receive the latest ezine? If not you can view it here:

Happy Knitting!
