Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a great day!!
Arlene Guerin said… Hi Christine, glad to hear how you've rediscovered the joys of knitting. I agree that it is relaxing - and portable. I knit right up to the operating room door with the consent of my doctors while fighting cancer and a number of operations some years back. Robert Hoddy has a pattern on the site for a jewel pattern that I used as a guide for stitch count for approximations for picture squares. There are a few I posted on my page if you want to take a look. There are some beautiful examples on the photo pages. I hope and pray for the best for your Mother. Best to you both, Arlene
P. Jeanne Haessler said… Welcome to KAS, Christine from up in Canada above MN. I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above and if you click on Photos above, you will see items that are heading to Africa, in all colors and shapes, plus those that have arrived there. If you click on Groups, above, you can join the enthusiastic USA group or any groups you wish, to chat with. Any questions just PM me. :) So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
And now we’re helping out over in Zimbabwe too and they need everything over there. I just love making a real difference in a child’s life. So welcome

There are all kinds of great ideas on the photos page and the people on the site are very helpful and encouraging. I just joined last month and found this site a friendly place to visit. It's wonderful to be able to help the kids and to enjoy making things for them. Welcome! Arlene
