Jan,  that is so funny!   It gets so dry here in southern NM that sometimes we have that problem just from the lack of humidity.   Has there been any news  about a JIGSAW store connection in the US  for mailing squares?

I called our Hobby Lobby,  and then stopped over there.   She told me they had some in the clearance bin,  and they'd be going through the yarn for the next couple of days.   I didn't see any I love…

If anyone is lucky enough to get one of the bigger companies to sponsor postage from the US,  please let us know immediately.   (meanwhile, crocheting away)    diane

Helen,  it was a piece in Sandy's  email  "We're back" from a couple of days ago. About the Netherlands branch of an Atlanta-based flooring company called Interface....which contributed almost 10,000…

After reading Sandy and Roger's message, I just can't understand why there's not been a US address.  For instance , the flooring company in Atlanta that funded shipping .  Can you imagine how many squares could be…

Jana,  I like the DBNY website that you mentioned.  I have a hard time resisting the "grab bags" because there are a lot of yarns in there that I would never have known about. it's fun, though.

When I said that she was overwhelmed,  I got that from something someone on Ravelry said...........it wasn't just our group requesting yarn.!  I think they're very generous.

It's not expired,  but I think they were generally overwhelmed by requests.   You may want to either wait a bit,  or send a request for whenever some becomes available.   It is to kmuhr@brownsheep.com

hi diane
i wanted to share with you that one of our blankets is pictured on the allfororphans site. on the latest blog the second to the last pic has one blanket with predominately light blue squares - i made those the rest were sent by you - this one is a result of our efforts so felt that sharing this completes the circle. it feels awesome to see the child wrapped. mission accomplished!! :)

Hi Diane,
thanks for the back-up the other day.
I certainly didn't mean to step on any ones toes and was a bit taken aback by the reaction. KZN Baby pack is a good site isn't it? I did a lot of knitting for them until I got busy with work for KAS. Sometimes I feel that perhaps I should be working for a more local group - the babypack is right on my back doorstep. Our children down here have even less support than those closer to a huge city like Johannesburg/Soweto. However, it's the commaradie on KAS that keeps me hooked. Jen xx

thanks for your kind comments. i really did enjoy the PA weekend. it is so nice to meet people with the same drive for this wonderful charity. of course i don't think i'd ever meet a bad person involved in charity events. it usually brings people of the same mindset together which is just wonderful. it was so emotional when the girls presented the blankets on stage. to see our work actually getting into the hands of some people that really appreciate what we do. the dancing and display that the choiresters did for us was so awesome. i admit - iwas wiping my eyes of joyful tears. enough inspiration to keep me going for quite some time.

Hi Diane I have no pattern for the picture books, I have been quilting for years and came across these and just remembered watching how they were made. I can try and explain it so I will post them on the discussion page.

Hi again ! I used a free pattern available from our local wool shop. I find she has lots of free patterns available.
But the pattern is available at www.sugarncream.com. Search for "Flower Power Rug". You have to become a member but the membership is free.

Hi Diane, I will post the pattern. It is quite a simple crochet pattern but very effective.
I'm impressed at the number of squares you have contributed for the blankets.
KAS people have done a great job with the blankets.
