I have just finished knitting my first vest and I am quite pleased with it.  I want to do a few squares to send with it but I have cast on 32 stitches and it comes out at 6inch(should be 8inch), it…Continue

"Thanks so much for posting this Elaine, I think this is a super custard cream colored vest which, with the ribbing, will grow with the child and keep them warm that much longer. That red is so cheerful. These are really well done. Bravo!"

Elaine, there was a network of shops accepting squares until 31st December. As far as we know this has now ended but apparently the Chester branch have said that they are still accepting squares (squares only.)

It could be worth ringing Jigsaw Clothing, 21-23 Bridlesmith Gate, Nottingham   Tel:0115 941 4437         OR

failing that Jigsaw Clothing, 17-19 Bridge Street, Chester     Tel: 01244 351 528

to see if anyone is still accepting them.

Hi Elaine

It's at Minsterworth near Gloucester.  We visit there for the Severn Bore in the early part of the year when there is at least a 4 star bore.  2010 we also visited in September.  I'm sorry I don't know the name of the church but on bore days the ladies there serve hot drinks and hot bacon sandwiches and doughnuts.

I've lived in Leicester for almost 36 years (i'm an exiled Geordie) and although the Highcross shopping area has improved things (well we have a John Lewis now) I still miss the sea.

Of course Leicester is an ideal place to travel from which we often do.

Please feel free to keep in touch.

Happy Knitting
