Thanks, Gitta.  I've made a total of 97 squares and think I will take a break to work on some chemo caps for a while.  They take about the same amount of time and the same amount of yarn.  When I was on a mission trip to Maua, Kenya, last summer, I met a woman there who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.  She's had a mastectomy and will have her third chemo treatment next week (out of a total of 6 treatments).  I will send some crocheted chemo caps to her, as well as distribute some of them to local hospitals here in Austin, Texas.

Thank-you for the welcome.  Your projects are very pretty.  I crochet, I have friends and family that knit.  After finding out about knit a square I have gotten 5 other people to make squares also.  I purchased some washable wool from Knit picks.

Hello Gitta, thanks for the welcome, I take it there are not too many South Africans on here?

We will be knitting squares for blankets at this stage, so hope to make a small contribution to some needy kids.

Thank you for the welcome. I look forward to contributing to impact the lives of some beautiful kids. I just learned to crochet in November.
