Jean Strange commented on Anne Powell's group Canadian CornerHi I have just received your request for friendship, lovely to hear from you. Aagh I am sorry to hear about your Cav, ours is called Jess and she is two . She rules the house, will never leave my husbands side . They are inseparable and are both having a snooze on the sofa as we speak. We have concerns about her showing signs of syringeomella, we love her so much. The vet has told us to wait a while so we are just hoping for the best. Oh well time to set the needles to work! x

MILI K said… Hi Jean, just to see how you are doing? We have a windy day here again in Croatia, but at least we got some rain. My February tally is 19 squares, so I'm just about one a day. It is helping me to use up my SCRAP yarn, let alone my stash.
Hi Jean, we are also near neighbours as I live on Portland. I have only been knitting swuares for a couple of weeks but am already addicted!! I have now started to experiment with different patterns which encourages me to finish ff a square quicker as I can't wait to start a different one! I have also knitted 4 hats and aim to have a go at a pullover soon. Happy knitting..

Joan Sawicki said… Hi Jean. Yes you are right. Newcastle is only 8 miles away from South Shields. Vancouver is a beautiful place, never get tired of seeing the mountains all around, especially now when they are snow capped. You def should try to make Vancouver a place to visit on your next trip. the only thing I miss about the UK is my family and friends, but my daughter and son-in-law are in the process of trying to move over here. Not that it is an easy process!!!! But I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Joan Sawicki said… Welcome Jean. Great to have you with us. I am certainly not put off because you live so far away. I am in Vancouver but am originally from South Shields. Been over here 12 yrs but still visit as often as I can.
Janet Lloyd said… Yes I know what you mean it was difficult at first but i went onto u tube and just kept on doing all the different stitches until I got it. Have only attempted a few things in crochet.
I am nore comfortable knitting especially to follow a pattern.
Enjoy knitting for such a good cause and have fun!
