Pam Antink said… Thanks Laurie, yes anytime! KasNEWS is essentially about KAS and its members. We need to bring members who are not Forum or Facebook 'geeks' (like us!) uptodate on a regular basis and keep them focused on KAS. If you spot anything on either, or elsewhere for that matter, that would create added interest please feel free to bring it to my attention. Try to keep my finger on the pulse, but sadly I'm not omnipotent! So your support, or ideas for a feature, or even, a regular feature are most welcome. Also KasNEWS takes some of the pressure off Sandy. My direct email is service@sycamore-wholefoods.co.uk - this is easier if you ever need to send an attachment. Thanks again, much appreciated
Cathy Smith said… Hi Laurie! Three boxes are in the mail now!!! I feel so relieved~! The only problem was that three boxes wasn't enough for all I had...so there were 13 that didn't fit in. We will fill another box soon and get that into the mail to you! Just FYI...It was $40 a box...so $120 for the 3 boxes~ There were 40 squares in two of the boxes...but not sure about the other box because there is also a nice size vest in that one ~ Enjoy! Hope you get your 500~ ♥♥♥ Cathy
Cathy Smith said… Hi Laurie...
It looks like it will be about $40. a box to you! I meet me daughter in about an hour and a half to mail the squares to you. We tried to count the squares yesterday, and I believe we have 133-135 plus a vest!~ So that should put you around 290 plus the hats/vest/etc. We will have more before your June deadline! Will keep you posted! Thanks again! ♥♥♥ Cathy Smith and Joan~
Cathy Smith said… Hi Laurie...My daughter and I are mailing our box to you tomorrow! My daughter's grandmother in law is paying for us to mail them to you! I think it will be two boxes!
My daughter/Joan wants to know how many squares you are trying to collect? How many you have received? And she was wondering the cost you have to pay to get them to SA? Finally, Joan was wondering how you raise the funds for postage? I hope you don't mind us asking~ Just wondering~
Thanks again Laurie~ Cathy Smith and Joan.... followJesus33@hotmail.com
Mary Anne Fellows said… Hi Laurie! Hope you are having a fabulous weekend! Honestly, I have no idea where I got the buttons, I've had them for so long! I think it was probably Joann Fabrics, but can't say for sure. I would love to find more of them....when I saw them, I bought several because they were on clearance; wish I had bought even more!
So, I have a question for you. I have some fabric that I bought some time back, originally to make a poncho. It is actually yarn woven together somehow, and made into fabric. It isn't as heavy as something we would knit and it does fray. But I would like to use it to make squares, if I could figure out what to do with it. Do you think I would be better off sewing tops from it? What about backing it with something soft, like flannel and making squares that way? Any ideas, my creative friend??
Have a terrific weekend my dear!
XOXO
~Mary Anne

Hi Laurie,
When you are ready to send a parcel let me know and I'll pass on the tips we Canadians use when we send to South Africa.
